Brian Murphy has spent a decade as an educator with NYCPS, working as a social studies teacher, teacher leader, and professional development facilitator in Districts 31 and 79. He has contributed to citywide high school initiatives through the Pathways Office and currently serves as an adjunct lecturer at the College of Staten Island and Kingsborough Community College. A passionate equity advocate, Brian has led efforts in culturally responsive education, social-emotional learning, and college and career readiness. He holds an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership, an M.S. in Educational Technologies, and a B.A. in History and Secondary Education. Brian is excited to join District 1 as a District Achievement and Instructional Specialist to support student success.
